Jenna Shovlin to be laid to rest in Donegal after sudden death

A young Donegal woman who passed away in New York is to be laid to rest in her native county.

31-year-old Jenna Shovlin, originally of The Rock, Clogher West, Portnoo, passed away in Manhattan just over a week ago.

Her death rocked the small tight-knit community in the west of the county.

Jenna was working with Warner Brothers, and was in constant contact with her beloved home despite being an ocean away.

Meanwhile, the Ardara GAA Club described news of Jenna’s sudden death as “devastating”.

“The news of her passing has left a black cloud over our Parish once more,” the club said.

Her funeral will now take place on Friday the 21st of March, at St Conal’s Church, Kilclooney.

Jenna’s funeral arrangements are below:

The sudden death has occurred of Jenna Shovlin, The Rock, Clogher West, Portnoo, Co.Donegal in Manhattan, New York.

Jenna will be sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, Frankie and Kathleen, Brothers Christopher (Tanya), Keith (Hannah), nieces Lilly and Jodie, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Jenna’s remains will repose at the family home F94 N6C2 from Tuesday the 18th from 12 noon straight through untill removal on Friday 21st to St.Conals Chrurch, Kilclooney for funeral mass at 12 noon.

Interment afterwards in the ajoining cemetery.

Rosary nightly at 9pm.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Kevin Bell repatriation fund and The Charlie Bennett Fund care of any family member or McCabe funeral directors.

A shuttle bus service will be in operation, from the Dolmen Centre Kilclooney, for the traffic from Ardara direction and Narin Beach car park for the traffic from Glenties direction to the wake house from 5pm daily.

The funeral mass will be streamed live on the McCabes funeral directors Facebook page.
