Teenager arrested after Letterkenny road tragedy is released without charge

A teenager arrested in connection with a collision in which a man died in Letterkenny yesterday morning has been released without charge.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed to Donegal Daily that files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and Garda Youth Diversion Bureau.

Brothers Anthony and Martin Gallagher were seriously injured when they were struck by a car at Lower Main Street just before 3am yesterday.

Anthony, who was in his 60s, later died in hospital.

Martin continues to receive medical treatment for serious injuries at Galway Hospital.

A man driving a taxi was arrested at the scene and was yesterday quizzed by Gardai in Letterknny before being released.

Gardai say their investigtions are ongoing.
