Gardaí believe a fire at a derelict house in Letterkenny at the weekend was started ‘maliciously.’

Emergency services attended the scene of the blaze in Meadowbank Park which occurred last Friday shortly after 4.30pm.

“The fire brigade were on scene to extinguish a fire at the property that is believed to have been started maliciously,” Garda Claire Rafferty said.

Nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

“We appeal to anybody who may have observed any suspicious activity in the area on that date to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 0749167100,” Garda Rafferty added.

If anybody travelled with a dash-cam in the area of Meadowbank Park or Long Lane between 4pm and 4.30pm, they are also urged to make the footage available to Gardaí.

The Garda Confidential Line may also be reached on 1800 666 111.
