Gardaí  have issued a fresh appeal over a fatal collision in west Donegal last month which claimed the lives of two young men.

Shaun Martin McClafferty (17) and his friend Jamie Diver, who was in his 20s, died following the single vehicle crash in the townland of Baltoney, Gortahork, on Friday, February 28.

They died when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into the gable wall of a house at approximately 9.30pm.

Mr McClafferty, who was the driver, and Mr Diver, a rear seat passenger, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the townland of Baltoney between 9pm and 9.30pm on Friday night are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí,” Garda Claire Rafferty said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Milford Garda Station on (074) 9153060, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
