Sadness as popular Four Lanterns to close in Donegal Town

It has been a stopping off point for many for the past 33 years.

But the Four Lanterns fast-food restaurant has announced it is to close its Donegal Town branch.

The move does not have any impact on the chain’s other outlets in Letterkenny, Buncrana and Sligo.

A spokesperson for the company said the main reason for the closure was because of “restructuring” of the business.

“We are sad to announce the closing our Donegal Town branch tomorrow Thursday the 27th March 2025. There are a few reasons for closing the branch mainly the restructuring of the business.

“We would like to thank all of our loyal customers who have been an absolute pleasure to serve and so many of whom have become great friends to us.

“We have been so lucky to have had amazing staff right from the beginning and our current crew who we appreciate and who we wish all the best for the future, especially Paul Delaney who has been with us for 27 years.

“All our other branches Letterkenny, Buncrana and Sligo will be open to serve you and we hope to see you again.
Thank you to Donegal Town for 33 wonderful years.”
