Voting opens today for the election of the Honorary Mayor of Donegal Town.

Five people have put their names forward for the role.

They are Billy Bustard, Justin Coughlin, Anna Gallagher, Ciara Martin and Gabriel O’Donnell.

Pauric Kennedy, who has held the role since 2017, is stepping down after navigating the town through significant milestones, including the successful Donegal Town 550 celebrations and the challenges of Covid-19.

Voting will take place in The St. John Bosco Centre, Donegal Town, between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Friday, 28th March 2025. Please bring photo ID and proof of address to vote. The results of the election will be announced following the vote count.

Further information on the criteria for voting is available from the Donegal Town Community Chamber CLG.
