Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered what have been described as “life changing” injuries in a deliberate road collision on the outskirts of Castlederg.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon, shortly after 3:10pm.

Police say that a man aged in his 60s was deliberately struck by a black coloured van, at the junction of Millbrook Gardens and the Killeter Road.

The man was rushed to hospital, where it’s understood that he suffered life-changing injuries after the incident.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the collision, on suspicion of committing grievious bodily harm with intent. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.

“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remain ongoing and police would appeal to anyone with any information or who may have dash-cam footage taken at the time, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 993 28/03/25,” Police said.
