A number of fundraising events have been scheduled ahead of the 27th annual North West 10k – as event organisers are shooting for the “magic one million” of total funds raised over the event’s history.

A total of €984,000 has been raised across the event’s history for various charities and good causes in the North West.

The two charities being benefitted by the 2025 edition of the charity run are the Multiple Sclerosis Donegal Branch and Donegal Horizons CLG.

A number of fundraisers have been tabled for April, ahead of the big day of the 10k itself on Monday the 5th of May.

As the North West 10k heads towards the magical 1 million euros mark the two benefitting charities for the 2025 charity run have been busy with a number of fundraisers to maximise their return from the 28th staging of the run and walk event which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 5th of May.

North West 10k Chairperson Neil Martin is asking the public to support Donegal Horizons and MS Donegal with the fundraisers that are being organised for the coming weeks, including:

  • Quiz in Letterkenny Golf Club on Friday 11th April
  • Coffee Morning at New Horizons, Carndonagh, Thursday 17th April
  • Coffee Morning in Maggie’s Tavern, St. Johnston, Saturday 26th April (11-2pm).
  • Stars in Your Eyes Show, Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny on Thursday 24th April.
  • Coffee Morning in Kilcar on Thursday 8th, May

Another fundraiser ongoing is an online raffle for a jersey signed by the Donegal Senior GAA Team, with more details on the North West 10k Facebook Page.

Among the fundraisers completed are the Clothes Banks at the New Horizons Centres in Letterkenny and Carndonagh, a quiz in An Seamróg Bar, Ballybofey, a signed Dublin GAA jersey, bucket collection in Carndonagh and Buncrana. All monies raised stays in Donegal to benefit local organisations that are doing so much good work.

North West 10k Chairperson Neil Martin also expressed his appreciation again to the five sponsors: Donegal Daily, Brian McCormick Interpsport, Century Cinemas, the Mount Errigal Hotel and the Value Centre.

People are now being urged to get registered, get training and get the word out to support the Northwest 10k charities of 2025.

Online entries are now being taken for the May 5th event by clicking on this link where runners and walkers will find all the information required:
