Religious bookstore chain reopens former Letterkenny Veritas outlet

The international religious bookstore chain, St Pauls, has reopened the former Veritas store in Letterkenny.

The move comes just over three months after the town lost Veritas when it closed its doors for the final time on Friday 13th of December.

According to The Irish Catholic newspaper, St Pauls has also opened a second north west outlet in Derry. The city’s Veritas shop also closed at the end of last year.

Located on Letterkenny’s Main Street, the former Veritas shop contained a small chapel where a special mass was held to mark its closure in December.

Former Veritas manager, Sheila Macken, will play an active role in the new St Pauls store.

Speaking at the mass to mark Veritas closure, the retired Catholic Bishop of the Diocese, Philip Boyce, maintained it was one of the company’s shops throughout the country that wasn’t running at a loss.
