There was a Donegal influence in abundance at Tallaght Stadium last night as the Republic of Ireland beat Greece 2-1 in the UEFA Women’s Nations League B.

Milford woman Amber Barrett scored form the penalty spot to grab her ninth international goal.

And minutes later Anna Patten scored with a classy glancing header to make it 2-0 for the home side.

Patten has strong Donegal connections with her maternal grandfather, Donald Coyle, hailing from Falcarragh.

Tyler Toland from St Johnston also started the game in midfield wiht the Blackburn Rovers star putting in a solid display.
