A lucky lotto syndicate from the Glenswilly area today collected their €1Million lotto winnings.

The jubilant group struck gold with a €1,000,000 win on the 2pm Daily Million draw on 10th March.

Their winning ticket was purchased from Kernan’s, Tullygay, Newmills.

And the all-important ticket was carefully hidden within layers of envelopes and sandwich bags!

One member of the syndicate admitted “I fantasise about winning the Lottery as a hobby, so to be here, in the winner’s room, it’s very surreal”

Kernan’s staff celebrate the win!

Recalling the moment of discovery, the head of the syndicate shared “We play every now and again, and on that particular day, I casually bought a ticket as I was passing by – not thinking much of it.

“It wasn’t until the day after when I checked the it. I was genuinely in a state of shock and disbelief”

When asked about their plans for their newfound fortune, the group agreed to sit on the news and celebrate together in the future.

So if you happen to see somebody driving a Porsche or sporting a Rolex watch when buying milk and bread in Kernan’s of Newmils in the coming days…
