A number of huge cruise liners will visit Greencastle this summer, resulting in a major boost for tourism on the Inishowen peninsula.

According to Foyle Port’s 2025 cruise schedule, several passenger ships will dock at the port during July, August and September.

A spokesperson for Go Visit Inishowen said businesses in the area should prepare for an increase in visitor numbers.

“Foyle Port have launched their 2025 Cruise Schedule, with a number of ships calling to Greencastle, with hopefully some of the passengers journeying across Inishowen,” they said.

“Go Visit Inishowen hopes to have a presence when the boats land at Greencastle to greet them. Any trades who are located near Greencastle should think about preparing for more visitors during these visits.”

Captain Bill McCann, Harbour Master & Operations Director, Foyle Port said: “The consistent return of cruise lines year after year speaks volumes about the reputation of our destination. The feedback we received from cruise lines in Miami was overwhelmingly positive, with particular interest in the port’s strategic location, allowing visitors to experience both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in one day.”
