A widespread search and rescue operation is underway after a man fell overboard and into the Irish sea last night.
The alarm was raised at 10:40pm by another person who was aboard the vessel, which was discovered off the coast of Ceann Heilbhic in County Waterford according to RTÉ News.
They are reporting that the vessel was travelling from Brighton to Swansea via Falmouth.
Both the Rescue 117 helicopter and a lifeboat were deployed to the scene, accompanied by a UK Coast Guard aricraft.
The search remains ongoing this morning for the man who went overboard.
