National: Teenager dies in Dublin scrambler bike crash

A teenager has died in a crash involving a scrambler bike and a car in southwest Dublin.

The incident occurred at around 8pm last night on Citywest Avenue in Citywest, Co Dublin.

The man, who was in his late teens, was the driver of the scrambler bike.

He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital following the crash, where he was later pronounced dead.

A post-mortem will take place in due course.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have conducted a technical examination of the scene and the road has since been reopened.
