Two children were among five people seriously injured in a crash in Sligo yesterday afternoon.

The two-car collision occurred on the N59 in Ballysadare at around 2:30pm.

Two women, aged in their 20s and 40s, along with a 9-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were hospitalised with serious injuries.

A woman in her 50s was also brought to hospital for assessment.

Gardai are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, and has camera footage of the incident, to make it available to them
