The tremors from a massive 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Turkey were picked up by equipment at St Columba’s College in Stranorlar.

The earthquake took place in the Sea of Marmara, 40 kilometers away from Istanbul – and over 3,000 kilometers away from Donegal.

However, both the intial earthquake and its aftershocks were recorded by equipment at the Stranorlar school according to QuakeShake.

While over 150 people were injured in the earthquake, no deaths have been recorded as of yet.
