There is widespread sadness following the death of Letterkenny businessman Johnny Diver.

A hugely popular and well-liked man, Johnny set up Divers Taxis which was one of the first taxi companies in the Cathedral Town.

Always a man with a smile on his face, the late Mr Diver was the quintessential taxi driver with a jovial manner and never short of interesting chat and opinion for his passengers.

Johnny and his staff including his sons and good friend John Houston, always ensured nobody was left stuck no matter what time of day or night.

Mr Diver passed away at his residence at College Farm Road in Letterkenny but was originally from the ‘foot of the town.’

He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Mary and brother Cathal.

He will be deeply missed by his family, wife Mary, sons, Kieran (Trish), Cathal (Tracey), Terence (Tess), and Tony (Sarah), daughters, Sabrina (David), Amanda (Eddie) and Karla, sisters Mary Ellen McNulty and Margaret McNulty (Letterkenny), Monica Durkin (Galway), Breid Harley and Maeve Sullivan (Letterkenny), Patricia Crampton (Westport), brothers Tony and Seamus, 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, in-laws and friends.

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny (F92 XE35) today Thursday 24th April 2025 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, concluding with removal to his late residence to repose, where you are most welcome to pay your respects.

Rosary at 9pm on both nights.

Funeral from there on Saturday 26th April going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.
