An Inishowen Councillor has labelled a dumping incident at a popular beauty spot in the region as “disgraceful”.
Councillor Terry Crossan highlighted the large dumping incident via social media after receiving a number of reports about the matter from members of the public yesterday.
The incident occurred at Grania’s Gap Loop, which is well-frequented by visitors and locals alike – especially now with such good weather and a Bank Holiday weekend approaching.
A large amount of discarded building materials were dumped at the entrance to the gate of the Grania’s Gap Loop.
Some of the materials left dumped included masonry and bricks, as well as large pieces of plastic and shards of wood.
While Donegal County Council crews will clear the site, Cllr Crossan has hit out at the deliberate act.
“It is absolutely a disgrace that this type of behaviour is happening on a daily basis,” Cllr Crossan said.
“I would urge anybod who sees anything happening like what we’re experiencing here to give any information to the Gardaí or myself.”
“This is absolutely a disgrace and it can’t go on.”
