A beloved toucan that was recently stolen from the iconic Biddy’s O’Barnes pub has been returned to its perch.
The iconic old Guinness mascot was grabbed from the pub’s shed a few days ago – but the unsuspecting robber didn’t realise that his heist had been caught on CCTV.
Biddy’s management said that they would not release the footage, as long as their beloved toucan was returned to its rightful place.
And returned he was indeed.
The pub announced his heroic return via social media this evening – and gave thanks to the thief for returning the bird after getting a bit carried away.
“The bird’s back—and so is the craic!,” Biddy’s said.
“Thanks to the power of social media, our wee Guinness toucan has found his way home.”
“A massive thank you to everyone who shared our post—and to the legend who got a bit carried away but did the right thing in the end. He’s back where he belongs!”
