The lucky Donegal winner of a €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize has come forward after a life-changing win in April.
The winner recently visited Lottery HQ to pick up their winnings – and they’ve already planned how to spend them!
There was much excitement in the Cathedral Town after it was revealed that the €500K winning ticket from the 25th April draw was purchased from Callaghan’s XL on Main Street.
Collecting their prize, the anonymous winner said: “I saw the news announcing the latest win was in the town and in the shop where I had bought my ticket! I had this gut feeling that it could be me, even before I checked my ticket. I was already spending the prize money in my head!”
“I couldn’t bring myself to check my numbers – I was enjoying the dream of winning too much. However, my partner couldn’t listen to me anymore and insisted I check the numbers. It was the most surreal moment of my life when I realised, I was actually holding the winning ticket.”
While the Donegal player had dreamt about spending the prize money, they are now looking forward to celebrating the win and hopes to book a nice trip, or two, in the near future.
Throughout May, EuroMillions players in Ireland have the chance to win a massive €250,000. This series of special EuroMillions Ireland-Only Raffles guarantees players a top up in the prize fund for all nine draws, every Tuesday and Friday, over the month.
In addition to the normal Raffle prize, one winner in each draw in May will win a dazzling €250,000 on top of the usual €5,000 Raffle prize.
