A man was hospitalised after he was set upon and assaulted by three other men in broad daylight in Letterkenny last weekend.

The incident happened near the bus station at approximately 4.40pm on Saturday afternoon.

Three men got out of a silver Volkswagen car and attacked a man.

They then jumped back in the car and drove off in the direction of the shopping centre.

An ambulance was called for the man as he had sustained injuries.

Thankfully, none of his injuries are believed to be life threatening in nature.

A Garda spokesperson said “We appeal to anyone who may have observed the incident to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

“If anyone travelled in the area of the Station roundabout, the shopping centre carpark or the Port Road between 4.15pm and 5pm with a dash-cam, we ask them to make the footage available to us.”
