The HSE has submitted plans for a new aseptic compounding unit at Letterkenny University Hospital.
The new building will be used to relocate an existing pharmacy where sterile medications are prepared, including chemotherapy, biological products, and other high-risk drugs.
The Aseptic Compounding Unit (ASU) was included in a recent €35 million HSE capital plan for developments across Donegal.
The new three-storey building will also consist of staff, office and ancillary support rooms on the ground floor.
The LUH pharmacy has been operating an ASU for more than 20 years.
