Two educational projects in the Gaeltacht have been awarded funding support for building upgrades.
€6,850 has been approved for Naíonra na mBeachóg, Mín Tine Dé, Ardara to provide shelter between the Naíonra and the school.
€9,250 has been sanctioned for Coláiste Mhuire, Loughanure, to install windows on the building which serves as an Irish language college in the area during the summer.
The allocations were approved by Minister for Social Protection of Ireland Dara Calleary and welcomed by Pat the Cope Gallagher TD and Councillor Anthony Molloy.
“The recipients of the grant need financial support they are key to the very heart of rural community life,” said Deputy Gallagher.
Pat the Cope Gallagher thanked Minister Calleary for his prompt response to his representations and he also thanked the officials from his department.
Deputy Gallagher added: “This is welcome news following on from the announcement early in the week that €65,000 was approved for Dungloe GAA Club.”
