An investigation has been launched after four masked men smashed up a house in Co Donegal this morning before fleeing in a getaway car.

The incident happened in the border village of Castlefin just before 10am this morning.

Four men wearing balaclavas targeted a house in the Emmet Park area and smashed a number of windows.

It is not understood that anybody was hurt during the attack.

The gang then fled on foot and jumped into their waiting car which was being driven by another man.

Local eye-witnesses said the red car, possibly a Vauxhall Insignia, drove off in the direction of Lifford/Strabane.

A Garda spokesperson said they are aware of the incident.

The spokesperson said “Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred at approximately 10am today, Friday, 9th of May 2025 in Castlefin, Co. Donegal.”

The attack follows numerous allegations on social media against a named individual living in the area.
