The public is being invited to have its say on proposed alterations to pedestrian crossings in the Twin Towns.
Safety concerns surround the pedestrian crossings added across Ballybofey and Stranorlar as part of a pilot scheme in 2023.
Concerns have been raised numerous times over the poor intervisibility of the corssings, in particular the crossings near to the Glenfin Junction and at Ard McCool.
The matter has arisen at several meetings of the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District, with numerous safety audits carried out.
Donegal County Council is now proposing a scheme to bring the crossings up to current standards at eight locations.
The works involve the addition of four raised tables at certain locations.
A raised table has been proposed at the crossing at Ballybofey Garda Station
One existing uncontrolled pedestrian crossing at the bus stop (outside the Balor Arts Centre) will be upgraded with a four-metre-wide crossing with a central refuge island on a raised platform.
Modifications will be made at three other locations, focusing on upgrading existing footpaths to meet current standards.
Donegal County Council is holding a Public Information Event for the public to view the N15 Ballybofey & Stranorlar Improved Pedestrian Crossing Scheme on Wednesday 14th May at The BASE Enterprise Centre Stranorlar from 2pm-7pm.
