A teenage boy is missing, and one other boy has been seriously injured following an incident in Buncrana earlier today.
RTÉ News is reporting that a teenage boy is missing following the incident, where it is believed that a group of three boys got into difficulty at Ned’s Point shortly before 4pm.
A second boy was able to swim ashore, but a third teenage boy was rushed to hospital with “very serious” injuries, according to the national broadcaster.
The boys are believed to be between the ages of 16 and 19.
The Rescue 118 helicopter remains at the scene this evening as the search continues.
Numerous members of the local RNLI and Coast Guard are also participating in the search, with Gardaí and emergency services remaining at the Buncrana Pier also.
