Eight new regional ambassadors have been named by Buncrana’s Children’s Charity.
The ambassadors were named in part due to their rooting and stature in the local community in Inishowen.
They will also help the charity reach across all of Inishowen to provide support and help to children on the peninsula.
The eight new ambassadors are:
- Gráinne Mc Cool – Muff / Quigley’s Point
- Ashling Doherty – Clonmany / Urris
- Pat Mc Laughlin – Malin / Malin Head / Glengad
- Caoimhe Gill – Carndonagh & Surrounding Areas
- Geraldine Mullan – Moville / Greencastle
- Kathleen Mc Ginley – Fahan / Burnfoot / Burt
- Cllr Martin Mc Dermott – Glengad / Malin / Malin Head
- Cllr Paul Canning – Newtown / Bridgend / Burt
“Each ambassador has been carefully chosen for their longstanding commitment to their community, their alignment with the charity’s core values, and their capacity to inspire meaningful change,” the charity said in a statement.
“From local councillors to youth workers, educators to community leaders — this is a team of people who not only understand the needs of their areas, but have long been part of the solution.”
“This expansion of our ambassador team marks an exciting and important milestone for Buncrana’s Children’s Charity. It reflects not only our commitment to supporting more families across Inishowen but also our belief that change happens locally — in kitchens, schools, clubs, and conversations led by people who understand the lived realities of their neighbours.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Gráinne, Ashling, Pat, Caoimhe, Martin, Geraldine, Paul, and Kathleen. Their belief in the work we do and their willingness to champion our mission ensures that our message, and our support will continue to reach those who need it most. Thank you to Mark Crossan from Quigley’s Point for all his assistance also.”
“Together, we stand united in purpose. Together, we remind every child and family that they are never alone.”
Adrian Mc Myler, Chairperson of Buncrana’s Children’s Charity, said:
“These are people who lead not just with words, but with action — people who roll up their sleeves, meet others where they are, and offer real help and real hope. We are so proud to have them represent our mission. Their passion, experience, and humanity will allow us to reach more children, more quickly, and more effectively than ever before.”
