A Letterkenny man is facing trial over an alleged serious assault in the town.
Corey McCarron, a 21-year-old of Leitir Ard, Letterkenny, was before Letterkenny District Court this week.
McCarron is charged with assaulting Jack O’Donnell and causing him harm. The alleged incident occurred on May 22, 2022 at Upper Main Street, Letterkenny.
Garda Gillian Page gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the accused man at Letterkenny Courthouse. McCarron made no reply, the court heard, and he was handed a true copy of the book.
Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has consented to McCarron being sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham made an order returning McCarron for trial. The alibi warning was administered and a section 56 order, relating to videos of interviews, was made.
