Letterkenny is now home to Italian Nook, a new restaurant promising a genuine taste of Italy for both sit-in and takeaway customers.

Since opening in March, this sit-in and takeaway restaurant has gained a reputation for authentic Italian cuisine, brought to the town by a dedicated team of chefs with decades of experience honed in Italian kitchens.

The focus is on homemade fresh pasta dishes and unique pizzas, as well as more unique regional specialities.

Owner Gulam Jakaria says he’s grateful for the excellent reception the team has received since moving into the space at the Riverside Retail Park.

Valued customers have been loving Italian Nook’s varied menu with options for lunches, light bites and mains.

“As we are serving unique Italian dishes like freshly made pastas, pizzas and all other dishes people are loving it, especially as we have a variety of options for all demographics. We do serve gluten-free pastas and pizzas upon request, and we also have vegan options too,” Gulam said.

Authenticity is a cornerstone of the Italian Nook experience. “Most of our pastas we make from scratch, including the famous Italian Tiramisu,” Gulam explains. “Also, our pizzas are one of our most popular items. We are a bunch of people who have been living and working in Italy in the same trade for a number of years, and in our restaurant, we only serve authentic Italian food, the same we served back in Italy.”

Diners are already discovering their favourite dishes, with Gulam noting, “Most popular items in our menus are homemade pastas, pizzas, Mulroy mussels, freshly baked potatoes with squid fish – what we call calamari fritti – caprese salads, alfredo, carbonara, mixed seafood pastas, and obviously, homemade Tiramisu.”

Adding to the appeal, Italian Nook offers a fantastic way for customers to enjoy their meals without breaking the bank.

“As we don’t sell any alcohol on the premises, we advise our valued customers BYOB – bring your own bottle,” Gulam says.

“Save some money, and we will allow you to enjoy our fantastic tasty foods without any extra corkage costs.”

For those on the go, Italian Nook also provides a convenient takeaway service. And there’s an extra incentive for those who call ahead: “We also offer 10% off for call and collect takeaways, and we offer 10% off for students too,” Gulam adds.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxed sit-down meal or a delicious takeaway to enjoy at home, Italian Nook at Riverside Retail Park is bringing a genuine slice of Italy to Letterkenny.
