The peaceful death has taken place today of Dan McTeague, a talented singer of Letterkenny.
Mr McTeague, aged 91, of Gortnamóna, Glencar Road, became a member of the choir at St. Eunan’s Cathedral at a very early age and soon became a leading voice.
For decades, his tenor tones were an iconic sound in the Cathedral and at countless social events and gatherings.
Alongside his life-long love of song, he worked for 34 years as a rep for Jacob’s Biscuits.
Mr McTeague will be dearly missed by his Bernie, his children Ethna, Fidelma, Geraldine, Kate, Josie, Joan and Paddy, sons-in-law, Mark, Fergus and Paddy, daughter-in-law Marie, his beloved grandchildren Catherine, Seamus, Aoife, Breifne, Ellen, Dan, Conall, Euan, Matthew, Eimear, Orlaith, Ciara and Aisling, nephews, nieces, neighbours and many great friends.

Reposing at his late residence today, Thursday 15th May 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday 16th May from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., where you are most welcome to pay your respects, concluding with Rosary on both nights.

Requiem Mass on Saturday, 17th May at 1 p.m. in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, which can be viewed live on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.
