Residents on Arranmore island have been left furious after ‘wild campers’ left a mess behind them in recent days.
The campers settled at the island’s lighthouse in recent days to make the most of the good weather.
But when they departed they left a horde of litter behind them.
The litter included cans, bottles, a sleeping bag, a pillow, cans, bottles and even a fire pit.
Islanders have voiced their anger saying it was so disheartening to discover the mess left behind.
Others have suggested adopting a policy similar to that on Inishbofin Island off Galway which has a ‘No Wild Camping’ policy.
