Donegal County Council has reported fresh progress on a long-awaited public toilet and Changing Places facility at Letterkenny Retail Park.
The accessible toilet facility, which has been in the pipeline since 2021, was put on hold last year when Letterkenny Retail Park changed ownership.
Last week, Donegal County Council signed and sealed a lease with the new owners of the retail park. The council is now programming the installation with the contractor.
Permission was granted in 2023 for two public toilets and a ‘changing places’ unit to be installed between New Look and Dealz.
The block will contain one regular sized toilet, one wheelchair-accessible toilet and the town’s first ‘Changing Places’ facility with an assistive hoist and adult-sized changing bench for use by people with complex disability needs.
