Seamus Coleman’s farewell to Goodison Park this afternoon before Everton move to their new stadium ended after he picked up an injury after 18 minutes.

The Killybegs-native went straight down the tunnel after being substituted.

Everton will move to a new 52,888-seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

Last week, manager David Moyes confirmed Coleman (36) would be at the club ‘one way or another’ next season.

Considered by many as a role model, he signed a new deal with his club last year and is now in a record 16th season at Goodison Park since joining from Sligo Rovers in 2009.

Coleman came off the bench in Everton’s 3-1 win over Fulham last weekend. He has also been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendlies against Senegal and Luxembourg next month.
