The Lough Swilly RNLI lifeboat crew came to the assistance of a stranded yacht off north Donegal on Friday night.
At 9:46 pm, they were tasked by Malin Head Coast Guard to assist a vessel in difficulty, located 1.5 nautical miles north west of Fanad Head.
The crew made their way to the stricken vessel in perfect weather conditions and arrived in good time. The yacht’s propellers were fouled by fishing pots, and the decision was made to cut the vessel free and tow her to the safety of Buncrana.
The all-weather lifeboat crew then proceeded to Buncrana Pier to refuel and make ready for service.
If you’re in difficulty in or on the water, or see someone in trouble, please dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
