Donegal Bees in Glencolmcille are celebrating World Bee Day with the launch of a Honey Trail Exhibition this Tuesday 20th May from 12–3pm.
The exhibition at the Church of Ireland explores the history of beekeeping, local traditions in Glencolmcille, the different Irish bee species, and simple ways you can help protect biodiversity and support pollinators.
Step into the interactive Virtual Hive and discover the fascinating world of bees. You can also see firsthand how beautiful beeswax candles are crafted.
Attendees can join Professor Alex Weir for an educational nature walk. Plus, you can learn all about pollinator-friendly plants from the knowledgeable horticulturist Adrienne Kelly.
Tea and treats will be provided for all while they enjoy engaging bee chats!
In the morning, the local Naoínra will be planting pollinator-friendly flowers from 10am–12pm – come cheer them on!
