Late of 450 Imlick Villas, he passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital over the weekend.
“It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Jim Mc Cready, our dear friend and a founding member of Carrigans Tidy Towns group,” a spokesperson for the organisation said.
“We have great memories of Jim, days filled with fun, carryon and laughter, he enjoyed a laugh. Jim was a proud Carrigans man through and through and loved improving the village with hanging baskets, flower beds, grass cutting, installing the boat, the turf cart (pictured), Christmas lights, painting, the list is endless such was Jim’s input.”
The group sorely missed Jim when he became ill, but will remember him dearly as a lovable guy who enjoyed adding to the community.
“He really was a great community man. We remember Jim’s brothers Simon, John, Thomas and sisters Margaret and Pamela at this time who cared for Jim at home so well in his latter months, we offer our heartfelt condolences. God have mercy on Jim’s beautiful soul, rest in peace dear friend.”
