Main pic: Odhran Doogan with Race Director, Gerard Campbell, at the end of today’s Rás.
A young Donegal man has today become the first ever cyclist from the county to wear the leader’s yellow jersey of the prestigious Rás Tailteann.
Odhran Doogan, from Gortahork, who is riding with Team Cycling Ulster finished third in today’s second stage from Charlestown in Mayo to Clifden in Galway.
The points he accumulated on the climbs and in the sprints were enough to take the outright lead on general classification.
Doogan also leads the points classification, the U23 category and is the top county rider.

Odhran Doogan was wearing the yellow jersey when he was just nine years-old!
Tomorrow’s stage three will start in Cong, Co Mayo, heading along the Wild Atlantic Way, before finishing in Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare.
