The Donegal Volunteer Centre is inviting nominations for the 2025 Volunteer Individual Recognition Award and the 2025 Volunteer Project Recognition Award.

These awards honour the dedication and impact of volunteers and community projects across County Donegal. The awards will be presented at the Donegal Volunteer Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, 10th July 2025 at 6.00pm in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny.

Organisations registered with the Donegal Volunteer Centre are invited to nominate individual volunteers who have made a significant contribution to their communities. This is a chance to recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts of those who give their time, energy and talent to support others and make a real difference.

“Volunteers are the heart of our communities, and their work often goes unnoticed. These awards are our way of saying thank you and highlighting the incredible impact volunteers and community projects have across Donegal. We encourage all organisations to take a moment to recognise the outstanding people and initiatives that support their local community”, said Eamonn Bonner, Volunteer Placement Officer, Donegal Volunteer Centre.

Organisations are also invited to nominate a Donegal-based community project for the 2025 Volunteer Project Recognition Award. Nominations are welcome for projects that are either ongoing or recently completed. Projects will be assessed on criteria including originality and innovation, community impact and the involvement of volunteers. A €400 Shop LK voucher will be awarded to the winning projects as part of the recognition.

Donegal Volunteer Centre, which is managed by Donegal Local Development Clg (DLDC), encourages all eligible organisations to take this opportunity to acknowledge the incredible work being done by volunteers and community groups across the county.

The decision of the judging panel appointed by the Donegal Volunteer Centre will be final. For further information or to request a nomination form, please contact Donegal Volunteer Centre on 074 91 26740 or by email at info@volunteerdonegal.ie. The closing date for entries is Thursday, 13th June 2025 at 6.00pm. Visit www.volunteerdonegal.ie for details.
