A €1million funding package has been announced to support Men’s Sheds across the country.
Grants of up to €3,000 are available to assist Men’s Sheds with their running and operational costs such as heating, utility and insurance bills.
The package seeks to promote the positive development of Men’s Sheds in communities across Ireland. There are now 450 groups in the Irish Men’s Shed Association.
Donegal Deputy says he is Pat the Cope Gallagher familiar with the work of the Men’s Sheds, adding that the work they carry out is of great benefit particularly in rural areas.
“I have visited both the Rosses men shed at Meenamara, and Sciobol na bhFear at the Screaban in Gweedore and have seen firsthand the word they do,” he said.
Applications can be made through the Irish Men’s Sheds Association, Unit 6, No 12, O’Carroll St, Tullamore, County Offaly.
