A man aged in his 60s who had been arrested yesterday in relation with the Creeslough explosion has been released by Gardaí without charge today.

The man aged in his 60s was arrested relating to alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997, but subsequently released.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the matter.

Gardaí have confirmed that their investigations into the devastating explosion, which killed 10 people, are still ongoing.

“The investigation is ongoing, co-ordinated from Milford Garda Station where an Incident Room was established under the direction of a Garda Senior Investigating Officer,” Gardaí said in a media statement this afternoon.

“The investigation continues to be led by local Gardaí in the Donegal Division supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and other agencies including the Health & Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities.”

“A Garda spokesperson is not available at this time.”
