A parking reminder has been issued to GAA fans making their way to MacCumhaill Park this evening for Donegal’s All-Ireland clash with Tyrone.
Throw-in is at 7pm for the highly-anticipated fixture which will be the opening game of the All-Ireland groups for both sides.
An additional free supervised car park will be open to the public at the Stranorlar Mart from 5pm – with a parking map showing the available car parks in the town below:
Gardaí are also reminding the public that they cannot park in the St Mary’s Church car park this evening, as there is a vigil mass that takes place at 6pm on Saturday evenings.
“We ask everybody attending the game to please park responsibly,” Gardaí said.
“Do not park in a manner that causes obstruction to footpaths, private entrances or that obstructs access for emergency services or that obstructs the free flow of traffic. Any vehicles found to be causing an obstruction will be subject to fixed charge notices as necessary and may be towed. This is to ensure a free flow of traffic for everyone pre and post-match.”
Gardaí are asking the public to please expect traffic delays both before and after the match.
“While we endeavour to assist traffic movement as much as possible, the large numbers attending will result in unavoidable delays. Adding additional time for your journey is advisable,” they said.
“Please follow directions from Gardaí, security staff and stewards in the area. We hope that everyone has an enjoyable day and we wish both teams the best of luck.”
