Passing of esteemed former hotel manager, Bridget Ewing

The death has occurred of one of Donegal’s most respected and well-known hospitality figures, Bridget Ewing (née Scanlon).

Late of Curragh, Killygordon, Mrs Ewing was the former manager of Kee’s Hotel in Stranorlar, where she spent more than four decades shaping its reputation as one of the premier hotels in the northwest. She began her career there as a kitchen assistant at just 14 years of age, steadily rising through the ranks to eventually take on the role of manager.

Her dedication, professionalism, and warm personality made her a beloved figure among both staff and guests. Bridget retired in the early 2000s, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and kindness that continues to be fondly remembered.

‘The death has occurred at her late residence of Bridget Ewing, nee Scanlon, 29 The Curragh, Killygordon. Beloved wife of Bertie, much loved mother to Shaun (Jan), Sharon (PJ) Mark (Catherine), Fidelis (Tony), cherished grandmother to Matthew, Jack, Grace, Joshua, Aaron, Hannah, devoted sister of Francie, Patsy, Cicily, Peter, Eddie, Mary Ann, also the late Rose.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her husband, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, Pray for Her.

Reposing at her late residence on Monday May 26th at 7pm. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday May 28th at 10.20am for Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon at 11am. Interment in the adjoining churchyard.

The House is Private on the morning of the funeral .
