Garda are hunting for a thief who stole home heating parts from homes in the Buncrana area.

Oil burner motors & ignition starters were taken from properties in the Earlsfort Terrace area between 3.30am and 4.30am on the morning of Sunday the 25th of May.

Gardaoi say they are appealing for dash-cam footage from the area from between 3am and 5am on that date.

They are particularly interested in speaking to a man observed in the area at the time.

A spokesperson said “We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have observed a man in the area on foot who was of slim build & wearing a hat.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have observed suspicious activity, vehicles or people in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning to get in touch with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.

“Any relevant information may be passed on to the Garda Confidential line also on 1800 666 111. Should anyone come across these types of items for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí.”
