Letterkenny’s St Eunan’s College is celebrating after two of its pupils were awarded the highest grades in their Construction Studies projects in the country for the 2024 Leaving Certificate.
The honours went to Gabriel Gallagher and Peadar Breslin for their outstanding work in last year’s exams.
A spokesperson for the school said this is a huge testament to their hard work and the brilliant dedication of the school Construction Department and Mr.Ronan McCole who guided both students every step of their Leaving Certificate course.
“The school is immensely proud of the students and their teacher,” said Damien McCroary, Principal of Saint Eunan’s College.
“To have the best project in the country come from your school is amazing in itself, but to have the top two projects is nearly beyond belief.
“Both Gabriel and Peadar are fine young men who dedicated themselves to the pursuit of excellence in their work and are now seeing the fruits of their labour.”
Both students have received certificates from the TechnoTeachers Association as well as the school.
The students visited the school this week to receive their awards and congratulations from Mr. McCole, McCroary and the whole school community.
Gabriel is currently studying Aeronautical Engineering in Belfast and Peadar is studying Marine Engineering in Cork.
Peadar’s story is a bit of a family affair as his father, Teague, won the very same award when he studied Construction Studies in his own Leaving Cert so it was great to see the skillset and passion being passed down.
“We celebrate the lads once again on their achievements and thank them for taking the time to return to the College to share their success with our community this week,” added a spokesperson.
