The Donegal Fire Service has bid a fond farewell to Norman Spratt on his retirement after 25 years of dedicated service.
Letterkenny man Norman was a respected driver and mechanic with his local station.
Just recently, on his wedding day to his lovely wife Jean, Norman had the honour of being transported to the church by fire engine!

His colleagues said: “Norman has been a pillar of calm under pressure, a steady hand in the most challenging of situations, and a friendly face that welcomed all who passed through the station doors. His unwavering commitment to the safety of our community and support for his fellow firefighters has left an indelible mark not only on Letterkenny Fire Service but across the entire Donegal County Fire Service.
“On behalf of the Donegal Firefighters Association and all your colleagues—past and present—we thank you, Norman, for your years of bravery, professionalism, and friendship. You will be truly missed on the drill yard, in the appliance bay, and most of all, in the crew room where your warmth and good humour always shone through.
“Wishing you the very best in this next chapter. Your legacy will long be remembered.”
