There has been an almost 20% drop in the number of people in emergency accommodation in Donegal.
There were 54 homeless people in the county at the end of last month, 18.1% lower than the 66 recorded in February, according to the latest homelessness report from the Department of Housing.
The number of people in such accommodation in the north west region of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, was up 2% in April to 156.
The number of families homeless in the region is 20. Of these, 116 are Irish, 33 are from the European Economic Area (EEA) and UK and seven are from non-EEA countries.
The numbers registered as homeless across Ireland have reached a high of 15,558 people.
