Shaun Patton makes a welcome return between the posts for Donegal as Jim McGuinness this morning named his starting 15 for Sunday’s crunch tie against Cavan.
The St Eunan’s ace was absent from last week’s disappointing defeat to Tyrone in Ballybofey, having picked up an ankle injury in the Ulster Final.
However, it remains to be seen if he takes to the field on Sunday, having been replaced by Gavin Mulreany just before the throw-in last weekend.
Paddy McBrearty and Peadar Mogan also returns to the starting lineup, replacing Conor O’Donnell and the injured Caolan McGonagle.
Cavan and Donegal face off as part of a bumper weekend in the All-Ireland Football Championship round robin.
Group 1 also contains Tyrone and Mayo who lock horns this Saturday. By the time these two teams throw in, the situation will be much clearer in the group.
