Police in the North have launched an investigation after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Strabane yesterday afternoon.
The incident took place in the Main Street area of Strabane, inside a block of flats.
The injured man, aged in his 30s, was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical condition after suffering serious injuries to his face, head and body in the attack.
A 33-year-old man was arrested a short time later by Police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and is currently in Police custody.
Investigating Police are asking anyone with information about the incidentm or who may be able to help with their investigation, to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 820 31/05/25.
