An Tearmann pipped in Gaeltacht final after blowing 13 point lead

Termon suffered an agonising defeat in the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta senior final  today after letting slip a 13-point lead.

Bhulf Tón went on to win by three points in Rath Chairn in the Meath Gaeltacht.

The Donegal champions led at the break by 2-8 to 0-6, thanks to two goals from Padraig Ó Fágain and Dáire Mac Daibhe scored five points.

Mac Daibhe added a third goal from a penalty and Termon led 3-12 to 0-8 after 47 minutes.

However, they were outscored 2-10 to 0-0 in the last 15 minutes. Two-pointers from Caolan Mac a Bhaird and Kyle Ó Móráin, along with a goal from Fiachra Mac a Bhaird reduced the gap to four points.

Oisin Ó Mairtín levelled with a goal, and Bhulf Tón went on to add three further points in added time to break the Termon boys’ hearts.

An Tearmainn scorers: Dáire Mac Daibhe 1-7, 1-0 pen, 0-4f, 1tpf; Pádraig Ó Fágain 2-0; Caoimhin Mac Eighteáin, Jeaic Ó hAlcorn, Sean Seamus Mac Suibhne, Seamus Mac Sharraí and Éanna Ó Cormaí 0-1 each.
