A 33-year-old man has appeared in court in Enniskillen charged in connection with an assault in Strabane at the weekend which left another man in a critical condition.
Stefan Brennan of Main Street, Strabane, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The charges are linked to an alleged assault at Main Street in the town on Saturday.
No details of the alleged offence were mentioned when he appeared at Enniskillen Magistrate’s Court this morning.
However, at the weekend the PSNI said they were called after a man in his 30s was assaulted at a block of flats in the town.
They said the victim had sustained serious injuries and was in a critical condition in hospital.
Mr Brennan appeared in court via video link and confirmed that he understood the charges.
A detective constable told the court she believed she could connect the accused to them.
A defence barrister said there would be no application for bail today and asked that his client be produced before the court on Thursday when an application would be made.
He asked that the police at that stage provide an update on the condition of the injured man and on the amount of CCTV which had been recovered from the scene.
